I’m just gonna be honest. It’s hard booking shows as an indie Christian hip-hop artist. I’ve been quiet for some time now. This last year has been a great year of writing, investing in family and pursuing and investing in a few other creative outlets. I really want to start exposing my journey, so that in some way, shape or form it may help or inspire someone out there who is convicted to pursue what God has put on their heart.

The last few months I’ve been on a booking frenzy... trying to book out my “Fulltime Dreamer” tour, which will include a bunch of music festivals this summer. Hundreds of emails (which an email does nothing, you have to call) 60-70 cold calls; searching through the 30th, even 40th page on google to find potential festival opportunities; crafting the perfect “phone pitch” to make you sound professional and confident, but not entitled or ungrateful; calling three, maybe even four times (following up with a text or two after that) risking being annoying, but full of hope because you KNOW you have something to offer; waiting in agony hoping to receive a booking confirmation; finally getting booked for back to back festivals, 15+hours away for $500 total, in an afternoon slot where maybe 50 people will show up to see the “new guy” they’ve never heard of. It’s an absolutely amazing feeling. It’s such a victory. I am always so honored when I get booked to play anywhere.

I value those 50 people so much. If you’re giving me a shot at your festival this summer, we’re gonna give you the best show we got... and then some. We value every minute on that stage and will pour it all out for every person willing to listen.

I love being the new guy. I love having to earn an audience’s respect. It’s how it should be. There’s no better feeling than starting a show with 50 people you’ve never met, and then ending it with 300 people who feel like family.

This summer is gonna be busy, the work is slowly paying off, I’m excited to announce what we’ve got coming up. I’ll be launching my “Fulltime Dreamer” podcast soon too to start sharing more of my story and what I’m up too behind the scenes.

I could say a lot more but I’ll save it for another time. Thanks for reading. Thanks for listening to my music. I appreciate you. 👊🏽
